The Art of Form and Code

That Was The Week That Was — 9th February 2020

A beautiful book arrived in the post this week from Christopher Grünberger. Analog Algorithm — Source Related Grid Systems, is a kind of graphic design manual, presenting a different take on grid systems, all done in start black, white and red. As usual from Lars Mülller Publishers, it's a high quality publication. Highly recommended.

This was my second week on one of my new client projects. I'm heads down in a world of code together with several phone calls a day, discussing things with my fellow collaborator on the project. I don't use Slack. I really dislike it. I'm sure for many it works well, but for me it's just noise and something which really interrupts me. Then again I'm someone who has all notifications turned off — both on my phone and desktop. Instead we make time for calls and so we can discuss things complete with subtly and nuance — something that text based communication really lacks.
