That Was The Week That Was — 5th April 2020

During the second week of lock down, I started on a new idea, taking the colours from the final fight scene in Kill Bill Vol One and creating some kind of visualisation, for want of a better word.

This was all done in Houdini, and after a few days I had a few things on the go that showed potential. I still had a lot more crafting to do and a few different ideas to explore though.

One of those was to attempt to run the frames of the sequence through the DensePose API, so I could distinguish the human figures from the rest of the scene, and do something different with those points in Houdini. It worked surprisingly well, being able to use the DensePose outputted frames as a decision making mapping tool.

The more I explored this, the more I liked where things were heading, but it still needed more crafting.
