That Was The Week That Was – 25th January 2026
Started the week off in a nice way with news that Cinema Redux: Metropolis had been acquired by a collector through Gazelli Art House. First shown in the Gen/Gen exhibition, this is the only Redux in black & white. Cinema Redux continues to resonate twenty two years since I first published it on my website, then going on to be shown at MoMA and later being acquired by them for their permanent collection in 2008.
Cinema Redux came from a weekend of play. Playing with code to see what happens when you take frames of video (or at the time DVDs) and present them in different ways. This constant need to play still sits at the heart of my process – such as it is.
So this week I've been continuing to create experiments with the POP operators in Touch Designer, adding some audio reactive stuff using some 808 State tracks. This type of work goes in to an ever expanding repository if ideas (which this blog is also part of) which I can make use of at some later date.
