That Was The Week That Was — 11th January 2026
Whilst there was much noise above where I worked in the studio at home — with the roofers putting a new roof on the house — it was still preferable to being driven quietly mad by the pigeons that had previously found their way in to the above roof space.
To help with the noise I added a few new records to my vinyl collection including Let There Be Rock by AC/DC in the form of a 1977 pressing I picked for a steal from a local vinyl shop. Alongside Highway to Hell I think these are the two best Bon Scott era AC/DC records ever made. Let There Be Rock ending with Whole Lotta Rosie doesn't get any better.
As Angus and the gang played I took the time to dig into the brilliant Discogs, properly cataloging my collection as it is so far. The geek in me loves doing stuff like this.
Very much enjoyed reading The Nose by Nikolai Gogol. Love me a good absurdist tale.
Meanwhile in Touch Designer I was messing around with an idea of using 3D geometry to create displaced UV maps which could then manipulate imagery. The idea is to to create clusters of primitives when then have a UV map overlaid. Altering the number and size of these clusters, as well as their position show some interesting results.
