Fido Weather Indicator

An Internet connected box tells you the weather

FIDO (Frugal Internet Data Object) is an internet connected box that does one thing and one thing only. It is devoid of unnecessary noise or features and strictly produced for use. It's a selfish cube created to do the task at hand without fuss or distraction. Even the display mechanism has no room for variation being laser etched into wood.

The FIDO Weather Indicator displays the forecast for my local area via weather data pulled from Yahoo! A series of weather icons displays the forecasted conditions and a light changes colour to indicate the day's highest temperature using the same colour chart as the Weather Channel.
