My @makerbot Thing-O-Matic is alive(ish)

P204

I'm proud to say the wonderful Thing-O-Matic is up and running! After a few minor hitches like not being able to connect to the machine—caused by the motherboard not being fully seated into the Arduino—I managed to do a little test print of a little box.

But we have a slight problem. It seems the extruder motor, which pumps the plastic to the nozzle, likes to pack in sometimes. I'm not alone in this problem and having spoken to Makerbot they're working on a fix. Not ideal, but this is half the fun of building something like this. I'm sure it'll get there.

I'll do a full report on my experiences building it when I have more time.
